And together we danced into the night.

My brother got married on Saturday.  It's weird, I have trouble thinking of my brother as a "husband" and Melanie as "Mrs. Lang".  To be quite honest, at first I didn't want my brother to get married.  I'm younger than my siblings by 7, 10, and 13 years, so they've always been much closer to each other than they have been to me.  It kind of felt like Bud was going to be gone if he got married, like I wouldn't have a brother anymore.

But the ceremony was quick, simple, and beautiful.  The JP was my brother's best friend Toby, who got his license specifically for this wedding. Afterward, we all gathered in a tent where Bud and Mel had their dance.  My brother picked out the music for the entire wedding himself and soon every was out dancing and having a marvelous time.  At one point I stood by and watched everyone dance with Rachel, a really good friend of Bud's and an extension of our family.  The conversation went like this;

R:"Look at your family, they're all crazy."
MK:"Yeah, they are, but that's okay."
R:"It's wonderful"
MK" In fact, it's perfect."

And that's when I realized how beautiful it was, how beautiful it was to have all these gorgeous misfits together having a marvelous time.
