The TV show MADE from MTV held a casting call at my school today. When I entered English class my friend asked me what he should be "made" into and quite frankly, it startled me. It made me think about all of the people that would be auditioning for the show and wishing they could change themselves. What does it say when the media exploits one's flaws and insecurities to show the rest of the world that everyone can be better?
I don't want to be "made" into anything. I'm still learning and changing and I'm content with the way I am right now. And it's sad that not everyone feels that way; that not every fifteen year old girl can say that she is happy with who she is or the alarming number of teenagers who say that they do not yet know who they are but would still like to change.
It just doesn't seem right.
